Sheilagh O'Leary (Cormier) is a professional Photographer/Producer, Event Planner, and Public Relations/Communications Specialist living in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. For over twenty years, her photographic work has been exhibited internationally and appears in numerous art journals and publications such as the Globe & Mail, MacLean's magazine and Arts Atlantic. She received her art education from Concordia University's Fine Art Program, The Banff Centre for the Arts, and The Rockport Maine Workshops. Her passion for people drives her to produce striking collections of Black & White portraits with an intimate exploration of each subject. Sheilagh continues her photographic practice through gallery exhibitions, installations, and commissioned works.

Sheilagh is an award-winning Art Photographer/Creative Producer and Community Activist. In her former role as St. John's City Councillor, she was a strong voice advocating for issues of neighborhood well-being, responsible city planning, environmental stewardship, and the celebration of our distinct cultural heritage. She ran for the seat of Mayor of St. John's in the September 2013 election with 42% public support and will be focusing on a return to politics. As a strong, community leader, she exercised her confidence and ability to be elected as the highest ranking officer in the capital city of Newfoundland & Labrador. O'Leary has more than 25 years experience in the non-for profit sector. There she delivered guidance, advocacy and administrative support for groups like: youth, women, artists, aboriginal peoples, and those in need within our communities.
